details in the text. In order to respond to them, students must read the text
carefully and understand details of such things as character, plot, and setting.
In general they do not ask students to interpret or analyze the novel.
You may use or adapt the reading questions in a variety of different ways,
homework. As you assign reading for students, provide them with reading
questions to go with each chapter.

reading comprehension of each chapter. You may ask that they respond to the questions in writing or you may use the questions in discussion to gauge student understanding and comprehension of the reading.
