At the recent 2009 South Carolina Council of Teachers of English conference, I put teachers through an exercise to better help them understand and teach the "languages of film."
This lesson plan introduces a poetry unit using music and film to get students thinking about the definition of poetry and how it fits into their lives. The end of the lesson introduces the concept of Found Poetry.
Students will learn about persuasive techniques used in political advertisements. Then they will create and present their own political TV ad to demonstrate their understanding.
Questions and lesson plans for movies. This folder contains a number of resources for many different subject areas.
Students should be aware that we will not be viewing all of these films this year. Many of these resources are for classes I am not currently teaching.
