Prior knowledge would be special right triangles and already discussed where the values in quadrants of unit circle come from...
Plan for students to learn(memorize before we can apply) the unit circle
paper with tick marks at each special angle & axis of unit circle
have students create an unit circle card Front: radian, degree, coordinates and Back: just circle with special angles marked
use that card while being verbally/tactilly prompted for values
Students will be given a blank unit circle at start & end of class and asked to write down all angles in degrees and radians
TIMED assessment used as a benchmark for growth not a grade. Graded by student & collected.
Students will be given a blank unit circle at start & end of class and asked to write down all angles in radians and coordinates of special angles including axis.
TIMED assessment used as a benchmark for growth not a grade. Graded by student & compared to yesterday's attempt and collected.
Answer Key or Rubric:
Students will be given a blank unit circle and asked to write down all information about each special angle including axis: radian, degree measure & (cosine, sine) in coordinate form
I give my students 4 minutes for the entire circle and it is out of 66 points.
