Reviewer Comments:
- This activity asks late elementary students to determine which salad green would be best for school lunches. Students begin with this guiding questions and brainstorming, which presumably leads to the hypotheses addressing plant growth and taste. There is a strong focus on setting up a controlled experiment. The next section allows students to record the data of an individual plant (perhaps this is copied if students are responsible for more than one plant?) and the following section allows students to evaluate leaf growth and taste of all six plants. For assessment, post lab questions are provided. This resource would be enhanced with more preparatory and pedagogical information for teachers, including estimated timeline and materials needed.
