The video recorder becomes the "third eye" for students, objectively and observantly documenting the work students are doing to provide a means for further discussion, analysis and presentation. Students are learning how to document their work to further their exploration of a topic. This is an introductory lesson to a grade two unit on boats and buoyancy using fruits, vegetables and a video camera to investigate and document why things sink and float. However, the lesson is adatable to different grade levels.
