• This resource is a lesson plan on immigration. Students watch a short student-created video on Ellis Island as an into activity and are then divided into groups to create a PowerPoint presentation about an immigrant group. While the structure of the lesson fits the content and the lesson would be beneficial to students, there are many parts of the lesson that should be furthered developed before it is implemented. It would be helpful to provide students with a template or a rubric for the PPT to clarify expectations for the project. In addition, more time would be necessary for students to both create and present their presentations.
