• This extensive exercise is intended to wean students away from the exponential form (1/a) ^ x to the more frequently used form b^(-x). The exercises make heavy use of graphing calculators and those can ask students to perform heavier calculations and draw more graphs than could be accomplished without their use.The exercises state some of the uses of exponential models without unfortunately providing any explanation as to why their are used in these circumstances.
