This two part resource is designed to help students understand Shakespeare’s tragedies. The first part describes the seven elements of tragedy: the tragic hero; the tragic flaw; the tragic “story;” the abnormal, the supernatural/fate/fortune/chance; tragic conflicts; the tragic pattern; and tragic structure in the plays. The second part asks the students to design a tragic hero comic strip. This is a collaborative project and tasks and roles for students are clear. There is also a grade sheet provided.
