This resource starts with a graphic organizer on which students describe the various ways rocks can transform from one type to another. A basic rubric is also included, though perhaps too general to give students helpful feedback. The lab activity itself uses chocolate / other chips to model erosion, pressure and heat and is highly engaging for its target audience – middle school – and can be done with inexpensive, easily accessible materials.
