Pre-Requisite Knowledge & Skills:

Student are learning about animals in their core class.


Procedures:

  1. Students will trace and cut out the body and legs of a turtle in green paper.
  2. Then they will glue a paper bowl upside down to the body to look like a shell.
  3. Then they can draw on a face and claws.
  4. The next class they will paint the turtles shell any design they want.

Materials:

  • Green construction paper
  • Turtle body tracers
  • Paper bowls
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Paint
Modifications, Adaptations, & Accommodations:

This is a basic lesson and works best with kindergarten.


Reflection:

If time allows, you can read a book about turtles the first day before the project.
