Lesson 2: HS Solar Lab

by Jennifer Greene

This lesson gives the students a lab to determine the optimum angle and direction that a solar panel should be in order to maximize energy output.  The solar kit can be purchased online at www.onemillionstudents.org.  We recommend having one kit per lab group.  Locally to the SF bay area, One Million Lights can do this lab in your classroom which would include the kits.  The second part of the lab is a math activity determining solar usage using California as the sample state.
