• This unit focuses on perimeter and area.  A Unit Overview is provided listing an estimated timeline, concepts, lessons and assessments.  There are a number of activities for each lesson, offering a variety of strategies to address each concept.  Some of the lessons did not have activities to go with them.  Additional materials are required for some of the activities including tangram tiles, geometric tiles, and measuring tools.  Some problems with the unit include the Mid Unit Assessment not being accessible, answer keys were not provided and some activities were missing parts.  With some minor adaptations, many of the activities could easily be used in a classroom.  Overall, the unit offers a great variety of activities that offer creative ways to address area and perimeter topics.
