Students read about the liberalizing reforms under Deng Xiaoping; discuss and sort public vs. private goods; discuss command vs. market economies; discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Deng's system.
Note: I'm not sure exactly how Ben defined public and private goods for this lesson (presumably not with the technical economic definition of non-excludability and no rivalry in consumption). Any ideas?
