Reviewer Comments:
This is a good lesson on the Rise of Hitler with clear objectives, detailed procedures, and materials. The lesson has a variety of activities including a review of the previous material and a reading with a follow-up activity that asks students to use voice bubbles and illustrations to demonstrate an understanding of why people supported Hiter. The rest of the lesson focuses on the SOAPS strategy for document analysis, and it requires previous knowledge about the strategy as well as content from earlier units in the collection. While specifically written as part of the unit on Genocide, this could also be used within a unit that only focuses on the Holocaust or the World War II era. It should be noted that there are a few specific classroom references that would need to be changed.
