• This is a very good follow-up lesson to the Introduction to the Rwandan Genocide. There is a review of the previous material followed by questions for students to answer while they watch clips from Hotel Rwanda. The questions are thoughtful and force students to think about the best and worst parts of humanity. The lesson also includes a review sheet for previous material taught on the Holocaust. It should be noted that the times for the Hotel Rwanda clips are not included and that there is also an assignment that references Bloom’s Taxonomy.

I will be able to analyze the origin of the conflict between ethnic groups in Rwanda and describe the genocide that followed. Essential Question: "If you make a terrible mistake, will you make it again?" This resource is part of Unit 5: Genocide and the Social Studies 7 course.
