PROBLEM:

HYPOTHESIS:

DAY 1:

· Observe each egg

· Find the mass of each egg

· Put two eggs in a beaker

· Add enough vinegar (acetic acid) to the beaker so that you are completely covering the eggs. Be sure to record the amount of vinegar that you use.

· Make detailed observations.

DAY 2:

· Make detailed observations.

· Pour out the vinegar and find the mass of each egg again.

· Make observations.

· Put Egg A in a beaker and completely cover with distilled water. Be sure to write down the volume of the water. Make observations of both the egg and the material it is submerged in.

· Put Egg B in another beaker and completely cover with corn syrup. Make observations of the egg and the material that it is submerged in.

DAY 3:

· Make observations of what the eggs look like after sitting in the water and syrup over night. Observe both the egg and the substance that it is in.

· Pour off the water and the syrup and find the mass of each egg again. Handle the eggs carefully. Make more observations.
