This engaging and comprehensive interactive provides simulations with space for learners to write short answer responses based on what they observe. There are various options to experiment with adding dye, add and remove barriers, and to change the molecular mass and pore size. The final panel ties all the concepts together in simulating a complex barrier problem as it exists in the human body. At the end of the module, you can “generate a report” which organizes all questions and responses on a single page which can then be printed out and, presumably, turned in as assessment. The entire module takes a suggested 45 minutes and is best suited for late middle or high school. You can see more such interactives at http://mw.concord.org/nextgen/#interactives
