• This webquest is a challenging and thought-provoking examination of dictatorships in the years leading up to World War II. Students research the Russian Revolution, WWI, and the events leading up to WWII as they learn about factors that contribute to totalitarian rule. Students then use their research to work in groups to prepare for a series of culminating assignments to share with a panel of Asian nations. The online research is centered around key concepts; history, anthropology, economics, and government. All of the necessary materials are provided online. The lesson can be used as is or adapted to meet the individual ability level of the students or the time frame available to study the topic.
