This lesson presents an interesting alternative method of finding the area of a trapezoid, using scissors and tape. Some students will learn better than with a construction proof. The lesson has some extraneous elements in it and would be improved by removing them.
Information - Finding the area of a trapezoid
Students cut a parallellogram and then tape it to form a trapezoid. They then answer a series of questions which enable them to discover the area of a trapezoid.
