This folder contains a lesson describing some of the efforts by the US in finding extraterrestrial life. There are also images, sound recordings, references, and an assessment to support this lesson.
This lesson describes current NASA missions searching for extraterrestrial life in our galaxy. Students are introduced to the Goldilocks Conditions, current missions, and places that may harbor life in our own solar system.
This assessment asks students to re-examine the Arecibo Message and the Golden Record introduced in the lesson "Extraterrestrial Life." After doing so, students are asked to create their own messages to extraterrestrial life and reflect on the effectiveness of the message and the reasoning behind it.
