This is an interesting project that requires students to learn about many different aspects of another country. Students work in a small group to create a brochure in hopes of convincing the President to travel there. The lesson is organized and has step by step directions and clear roles for each student. The lesson gives students the opportunity to do computer research, to write independently, and to collaborate with
other students on the finished product. It also includes a rubric for evaluating the project.
While the lesson does not clearly state the objectives, the conclusion addresses the value of the lesson to student learning. In order to use this lesson effectively, it would be beneficial to create a student handout with the step by step directions. This type of lesson could also be used with other countries and/or places around the world.
This is the area of the lesson plan template that provides a format for the following contents: Introduction, Objectives, Materials, Procedures, and Assessment.
