• This excellent middle school activity uses the film “An Inconvenient Truth” to lead into a class debate on the need for immediate action towards global warming. After watching the film and discussing some notes, students will split into debate groups according to their current views. This resource contains references to national (USA) standards, a rationale, a detailed procedure, as well as all notes, handouts and assessments necessary for the activity. Pedagogy is clear throughout the resource. Student debate roles are clearly defined, and the included assessment is aligned with the expectations of the activity. This resource is engaging, timely, and immediately useful in the classroom.
