• This is a simple handout that introduces students to Chinese calligraphy. Students read a short passage, answer questions, and then are shown examples of some characters. The reading is accurate and easily accessible to the intended grade level. The chosen example characters are high interest words such as best friend, fun, and fried chicken. While not linked to a particular unit or collection, this assignment could be integrated into a unit on Chinese culture or history.
