• This resource is a lesson plan for fluency, focusing on choral reading and expression and uses a Reader’s Theater version of the Julius Caesar. The literature is introduced and students research the historical facts around the play, the people in the play and the setting of the play. Great differentiation support is provided. Background knowledge is increased through pre-reading vocabulary experiences and a read-along that students do while listening to a recording of the play. Fluency is practiced for the authentic purpose of performing. Students interact with various graphics about the play, reread some scenes, and respond to the play in a variety of ways, including writing and creating graphics. CD resources are available for this lesson plan.
