• This resource guides students through the process of conducting and synthesizing research on ancient China and nation-building. The entire lesson is Internet based and students are provided with clear directions for each step of the process. Students are first expected to research the culture of ancient China and nation-building and second they research nation-building in a modern nation. They then synthesize their research into two online museum exhibitions and finally create a podcast that responds to the essential questions. The lesson supports the development of research, writing, collaboration, and technology skills. It should be noted that this is a large assignment that require sample time for students to complete. Depending on classroom resources and time, it would be possible to break up some of the research tasks between different group members.
