• This lesson is part of the Empire collection. The lesson has clear objectives and detailed procedures with time allotments and all of the necessary resources. There are some specific classroom references that would need to be changed to meet the needs of an individual teacher. There is an excellent reading on the differences between settler and non-settler colonies and a creative sorting activity that forces students to apply what they learned from the reading.
