Partners with Institute for Humane Studies to Offer Fresh and Diverse Curricula
CUPERTINO, Calif., May 9, 2017 – Curriki, a leading global provider of free open educational resources, has partnered with Learn Liberty, a project of The Institute for Humane Studies, to help teachers, homeschoolers and students explore what makes a free society, Curriki CEO Kim Jones announced Tuesday.
The new content in the Curriki OER library includes 200 videos, which provide great discussion starters for high school and college classrooms. Social Studies teachers will be especially interested in Curriki’s collection of Learn Liberty’s “America’s Founding” videos. (http://library.curriki.org/oer/Learn-Liberty-s-America-s-Founding-Videos/) A number of interactive quizzes and other curricula are also in the pipeline.
“This mind-expanding content from Learn Liberty greatly enhances Curriki’s interactive social studies offerings,” said Jones. “We take very seriously our obligation to help teach students about freedom and democracy in new and diverse ways. “
The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS), which produces the Learn Liberty project, is a nationwide nonprofit on the campus of George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia. IHS engages with students and faculty to encourage the study and application of freedom across disciplines.
“The primary goal of Learn Liberty is to encourage deep and memorable conversations among teachers and students about the different ways to approach global issues. We are proud to partner with Curriki to make our video library available, so that more teachers can lead these important conversations about important issues,” said Ifat Lerner, the director of the Learn Liberty project.
Curriki helps teachers and homeschoolers inspire learning in their students, and inspires students to learn more every day. Members of the Curriki community come together from every country around the world to share, collaborate and connect in order to make the best teaching and learning materials universally accessible and useful.
Curriki offers thousands of vetted, curated resources. Its innovative design allows for quick and efficient searches for curated collections, units, or courses to save valuable planning time.
